CHARACTER ANALYSIS

Veruca v.s. Charlie

Veruca is a spoiled kid from a rich family in England. She always wears different clothes whenever she appears on the screen. She is seen wearing lavish clothes, which is shown by her outfits - a fur coat and a bright pink dress - during the tour. Compared to other characters in the book or movie, she stands out because of the clothes she wears. The director uses extreme long shots to show that Veruca’s family lives in a big castle, which indicates their wealthy background.
